Can students attend on a part-time basis?
No. Graduate study at Berkeley cannot be done on a part-time basis and the SIMS program is no exception. Masters students are expected to complete three required courses during the first semester and to complete the program in a two-year time frame. What constitutes full-time enrollment? The Berkeley Graduate Division considers enrollment in 12 units (3-4 courses) as constituting full-time enrollment. During the first semester the three required core courses will constitute a full time load. Can prior course work be applied to the Masters degree program? The Graduate Division requires that all work toward the degree must be completed after being admitted and enrolled in the program. Under specific circumstances up to four units taken while enrolled in a very similar graduate degree program might be accepted toward the MIMS degree. |
