 Finders Keepers Project
Most people are usually searching for something: a good restaurant,
a rare antique, the ideal mate, the perfect martini. Often, the perfect
restaurant/mate/antique/martini is right under the nose of someone else!
What if we could enable the searchers to connect to the finders, using
cameraphone technology? A searcher sets up a list of criteria for what
they are looking for, and the system would examine its current database
of images and metadata for a match, and return the results. In addition,
whenever a new image is added, its metadata is checked and a notification
is sent out to anyone who is searching for something matching that description.
Depending on the specific metadata, the same system would be used for
finding restaurants, dates, antiques or virtually anything else. But for
the purposes of our project, we focus on its application as an antique
finder service. We call our system FindersKeepers.
