Environmental Science

Environmental Science is a young field, with roots in the many older disciplines, from chemistry and meteorology to ecology and geography. The demand for environmental research has grown dramatically since the environmental movement and legislation of the late 1960s and 1970s. Today, environmental analysis and remediation is a significant industry in its own right, addressing itself to the consequences of industrial civilization more generally.
