InterTrust is one of the leaders in development of container architecture to handle the complexities of charging for Internet information and compensating rights-holders for use (rights management). Dr. Rober Weber, Senior Vice President for Business and Technology Strategy for InterTrust, will give an overview of the InterTrust Commerce Architecture, discuss its main features and benefits, and suggest how InterTrust will affect various content businesses.

Strategy for InterTrust.
For five years previously, he was Principal at Northeast Consulting
Resources, Inc., a Boston-based consulting firm specializing in business and
information technology planning and strategy. While at NCRI, Weber founded
and led the information commerce and rights management practices group.
Weber's clients ranged from startups to Fortune 500 companies in publishing,
information services, computing, and communications, including IBM,
Intel, and the Copyright Clearance Center. He has written for the trade
press, including Publishers Weekly and Communications Week, and has
lectured widely about rights management and information commerce
challenges.
Prior to his time at NCRI, Weber held several technology-related positions at Harvard University, the last as a planner and strategist for the use of the Internet in education, research, and medicine. Weber holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Connecticut. He has written three books and more than two dozen scholarly articles on the use of computers to analyze documents for social science purposes, and he has been a Fulbright Scholar.
