Berkeley Digital Library SunSITE
Sponsored by the UC Berkeley Library and Sun Microsystems, Inc., the Berkeley Digital Library SunSITE serves as a testbed for digital libarary research. It hosts digital library collections as well as information, tools, and services for digital library, museum, and archive developers.

Berkeley Center for Law & Technology/Intellectual Property
A research center designed to help legal practitioners, policymakers, and scholars understand the ways in which law and legal institutions influence the rate, direction, and impact of technological innovation. The center also publishes an IP And Technology Law Working Papers Series.

Berkeley Institute of Design (BID)
BID defines a new design discipline that spans computer science, architecture, industrial and mechanical engineering.

Berkeley Multimedia Research Center
An interdisciplinary group that studies applications of multimedia technology. BMRC brings together artists, educators, and scientists to develop and experiment with new technologies and applications and to study the social and policy issues they raise.

Center for Document Engineering
A research center sponsored by SIMS and the E-Berkeley Initiative that makes business semantics the driving force for business information systems. The CDE promotes model-driven technologies and methods that enable the implementation of business relationships as a network of digital document exchanges.

Center for Telecommunications Policy Research
A multi-university research and outreach program designed to foster policy research and analysis on regulatory and policy issues in the telecommunications sector and the role of telecommunications in the economy and society.

CITRIS (Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society)
CITRIS was established to sponsor collaborative information technology research that will ultimately provide solutions to grand-challenge social and commercial problems affecting the quality of life of all Californians. The set of applications include energy efficiency, transportation, environmental monitoring, seismic safety, education, cultural research and health care.

Fisher Center for Information Technology and Management
A research center dedicated to building and sharing knowledge of emerging information technologies and to helping business organizations gain competitive advantage through the enhancement of technological understanding and management capabilities.

Geographic Information Science Center
The GISC was established to serve Berkeley faculty, students, and staff by coordinating the acquisition, instruction, deployment, and development of geographic information technologies on the campus. The fundamental mission of the center is to raise the level of GIS expertise on the entire campus and to stimulate cross disciplinary education, research, and cooperation using these technologies.

UC Data Archive & Technical Assistance
UC Berkeley's principal archive of computerized social science and health statistics information. Offers access to collections of data used by researchers in the social science and health fields.


Computing Research Association (CRA)
The CRA is an association of more than 180 North American academic departments of computer science and computer engineering (CS&CE); laboratories and centers in industry, government, and academia engaging in basic computing research; and affiliated professional societies.

Helsinki Institute for Information Technology
A research institute in Finland with whom we are working. Research topics include mobile communication, intellectual property, network economics, and a variety of other related subjects.

Management in the Network Economy (MiNE)
The MiNE program is an initiative of the Center for Research on the Applications of Telematics to Organizations and Society (CRATOS) of the Università Cattolica at Piacenza, Italy, working in collaboration with SIMS.
